Angela Middleton

return to Life Stories

Angela MiddletonAngela was struck down by a seizure in the street in Boston, Lincs. This was without prior warning of a problem of any kind. She was out doing last minute Christmas shopping with her husband. Rushed to hospital, she was quickly diagnosed with the severest form of brain tumour and fought bravely against it for 19 months before finally losing her battle. She underwent three neuro procedures at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, endured a number of stays at St Barnabas and was also cared for at home by her adoring husband John. He barely left her bedside for any length of time and did everything he could for her. In October they would have celebrated their third wedding anniversary.

Angela leaves two sons, Alexander 18 and Jonathan 15. She also leaves behind a greiving extended family. Christopher, her elder brother tells us: 'It was a great testament to Angela's popularity and how she made friends so easily, that a large number of people attended her funeral on 28 July 2006. This included many nurses and home helps who attended to her during her illness.

She will be greatly missed and nothing will fill the great void that we all now feel and will feel for ever more. Thank you for all the Trust is doing to defeat the horrible disease that so cruelly took my sister and cut down a woman in the prime of her life and who had so much to live for.'
